If you want to cut prices drop skylake and go with haswell, it will perform nearly the same in gaming while costing less.
The money saved can be put to a better graphics card such as a 980 or 980Ti.

i got 16gbs because i have 2 monitors and like to watch netflix while gaming or designing, and its crashed my pc because ive ran out of memory a few times
