I have a LG optical drive GH24NS95 and its been giving me trouble. When I boot with a disc inside I can't even get to the POST screen. The moment I eject the disc it starts the POST. Both BIOS and Windows detects the drive and its model name, but doesn't recognize if a disk is inside or not. Thanks in advance for any help

You should never start a computer with a dvd in tray or a USB stick attached, most systems assume that having those means you want to boot from it.

And by post, do you mean an actual post screen or just the UEFI loading screen? If it's the former (only on systems with legacy BIOS, i.e. older than haswell) there might be an issue, but if it's the latter it's just trying to load a non-existing OS from your disk.

My computer has never had a problem with this before windows 10, I just put in a game disc and explicitly told BIOS to boot from SSD. It should be the POST screen because it hangs before the CPU and RAM info shows up. Also it still doesn't get recognized by Windows that a disc is there, when i double click it in Explorer it ejects the disc and asks for something to go in.
