I got just put in the order for them , was also wondering what does the 1866 oc on the motherboard description mean? I know it means overclock, but does it mean I need to oc the ram or something to use it?
It basically mean that to run at 1866 it may require an OC of the CPU/MC to run at full spec of 1866. CPUs for the 1150 mobos are rated up to native 1600 DRAM. Depending on your CPU, it prob won't be needed, the K model CPUs and their close kin that are non-K models generally will run 1866 without a OC
Instal enable XMP in the BIOS, set 1866 abnd see if it boots. If Win installed can confirm with the free app CPU-Z, check the memory tab, if the freq is 933 then you are running at 1866 as it's DDR DOUBLE data rate
