My friend is having an issue with his computer, any help would be fantastic, thanks so much :)

"Hooked up new hard disk drive into machine, when I rebooted it gave me a black screen with the words "Reboot and select proper boot device." I shut it down and made sure all the cables were snug, and then rebooted the machine only to get the same error.
We even messed with the boot order in the BIOS to make sure it was booting from SSD I have.
We rebooted and again had the same problem.
The only way I was able to get into windows was to go to Save and Quit in the Bios and somehow manage to click the right thing.
Anyways. Point is I can get into windows. But not without going through the BIOS first.
How do I fix this problem here?"

First thing i would do, is go to the Boot Device Menu. Most boards offer a quick-menu on Key F10 -F12 during startup to choose the boot device (i don't mean the in-bios configuration of the boot order). Choose the SSD there and try to boot with it. Sometimes it shows two entries for one device, a normal and a UEFI one, try both. If you can boot with one device then put that one at the top of your boot device priority list in your bios.

Sometimes the boot priority order just states HDD an then there is a seperate menu to choose the HDD Order.
