Hi There

Was looking at buying a mac mini but have found the latest version - you can't upgrade the parts

so therefore thinking i should build a pc for similar pricing if possible
i'd have a budget of about 700/800 euro
i don't need a monitor

also if possible would like
a good processor ( possibly i7 )
maybe 16gb ram to avoid future upgrading
a ssd to run the OS on
wifi adapter needed also
all the other usual items too - motherboard, case etc

would this be possible for my budget?

Solution
CPU comes with a cooler, should be okay!

If you find it way too loud grab a Be Quiet Dark Rock 3 and remove the fans.

FYI buying parts from the UK is cheaper

E.G This is around the same price for a slightly nicer case and a silent cooler.

You could run the stock intel cooler if you want but it's louder. Just so we are clear. This is not a gaming rig.

Admirable
You'd have to contact Novatech to be absolutely sure, but I would be very surprised if you couldn't upgrade RAM, CPU, and disks. So about the same as the older Mac Minis in this respect (except I don't think you could upgrade the CPU in them), and much the same size.

You might want to Google "NUC" as there are a host of computers with this form factor available from several vendors.

Hi

THanks for response and details

I see your point about it not being a gaming rig - however would games like Football Manager work and Settlers
They usually don't require high specs

hi there again

i just noticed that theres no grpahics card in this build....?
would i need to include one?

Only if you want to play some higher grade games.
Otherwise the Intel i7 4790's own integrated graphics is enough for some basic games.
