Hey guys

I'm looking for an 850 watt power supply and I don't know what to get as this is my first build. The ones I'm considering are, corsair AX860i, CoolerMaster V850,or Seasonic X850.

These are my specs -

CPU – Intel Core i7 4790K
Motherboard – ASUS Z97 Deluxe
GPU – MSI NVidia GTX 970
RAM – Corsair Vengeance DDR3 – 16GB (2 X 8GB)
Storage – SSD | Samsung 850 Pro 512GB
HDD | WD Black 2TB
CPU Cooler – Corsair H100i
Case – Corsair Obsidian Series 750D

Thanks in advance

Something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438018 should be plenty for you, the corsair is overpriced for your build. Honestly, your build is so similar to mine, you could take it down a peg if you wanted to take it to a 750 or something and save a few extra bucks. I suppose it depends on what you plan to do and if you plan on adding more GPUs or upgrading it in a near future, but just my two cents.

850W is overkill for this setup, a good 750W PSU will even handle a GTX 970 SLI setup later on if needed.

Power Supply Requirements for two GeForce GTX 970 graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode

• NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 700 Watt or greater system power supply (Minimum system power requirement based on a PC configured with an Intel Core i7 3.2GHz 130 Watt TDP processor.).
• the power supply must also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 50 Amps or greater.
• the power supply must also have at least four 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors. There are some non-reference design cards that require one 75 Watt 6-pin and one 150 Watt 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors or just one 150 Watt 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector per card.
