Not sure if this is the right place to ask a question like this, but I think it has something to do with my graphics card, although I'm not sure. I haven't always had this problem but it's gotten alot more frequent lately. Basically the problem is: I have two monitors, so I like to have my game (in this case World of Warcraft) in my primary monitor and google chrome with a youtube video or a twitch channel up in the secondary monitor. But lately chrome has started lagging alot when I do this. Only if I have chrome in the background, not when it is in the foreground. Also it's only when I watch a video. My system has been powerful enough for this to be smooth before, so I don't understand why this shall happen now. Any suggestions? Thanks!

My PC specs:
MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard
MSI Geforce GTX 980
Intel i74770k CPU 3.50GHz
Corsair Vengeance Pro ddr3 2400mhz 16gb
Windows 10 64-bit.
Recently updated BIOS

Cheers for the answer. I would say it's definitely not an internet problem, since it's very different from internet latency lag. The video and stream is buffering with no problem, but the whole browser is lagging. It's just low fps. It's strange.

How are you connecting to the internet? WiFi or Ethernet? Additionally, what type or router are you using and is there anyway to employ QoS? It may be a bandwidth issue with your LAN getting saturated. Maybe too many devices on the WiFi (or an uninvited guest). It could be an issue with any AV that may be running. It could also be an issue with adware/tracking cookies constantly updating (maybe you have some spyware).

Also, check your Chrome plug-ins. Something could have changed which is hogging up network resources.

I am connected through a Ethernet cable. There is not many people using the router at all. It's just me atm, that I know of. I have a Inteno DG201-R1B router. I'm sorry but I don't know what QoS is. I shall try scanning my computer for spyware. I'm using BitDefender total security. I shall disable all chrome plugins to see if that works. I'll leave an update on how the situation changes. Thanks for the reply!
