4 pin 12v cable to power 8pin 12v CPU

my psu only has a 4pin connector will this converter be sufficient?

Or will my psu not work with the 8pin connector?

Motherboard: Gigabyte gaming 5
PSU: 600W

It may work with only the 4 pin connected (see the motherboard in what 4 pins to use) or consult the manual to see if the decide that you need all 8.

Sometimes the 8 pins are to provide extra power to the motherboard for things like SLI or extreme overclocks but you can get away with 4.

If they require all 8 pins then you need a better PSU. adding a adapter is only asking for something to blow up or start a fire. It wants 8 pins because it needs that much power, not the 4pin power split.

So from that diagram of the 8pins do you not think that it just needs all 8? Could I just plug the 4 pin into the right side of the 8pins
