As USAFRet said, don't watch videos to learn this. Read some networking books and find out exactly what the purpose of those two settings are and when they should be used and how to use them. You are not going to get a "more direct connection to the server" by using them to lower your ping, they are only set for your local TCP/IP settings with how the network card handles packets.

Stop doing that.

Understand what 'ping' represents.
Round trip time between your device and the server or whatever you are connecting to. One major factor is actual, physical, distance between you and that server.
Ping the router in your house? <1ms.
Ping a server 2 towns away? 20ms
Ping a server on the other side of the planet? 200ms.

Physics.

There is often very little you can do to affect your overall ping numbers. Once the signal leaves your house, you are at the mercy of all the devices in the chain, and distance.
Want a lower ping? Connect to a server closer to your location.
