My new modem router combo has no RJ11 plug for the phone like my old one does. How do I connect my phone now?

Usually with DSL modems, the phone passthrough is found on the filter that plugs into the wall phone jack, perhaps your old modem had the filter built into the modem.

If you are talking about VOIP phone, then it sounds like you have the wrong/incomplete hardware.
