How can I fix my hard drive?

I have two 1TB WD Blues but one is out of commission. The one that is currently not working was pulled from an old system that I had that worked perfectly. I got it all plugged in and booted my system from that drive, and it would crash windows to a blue screen that would say "inaccessible_boot_drive" and would constantly reboot the system without a place for me to put the drive in safety mode. Now the broken drive will work, read and write files if my main hard drive is booted first but, if the broken drive is plugged into my Mother Board, my Windows will lag and crash programs. Is there a way where I can fix this issue so I can use both drives?

Solution
Changing motherboards usually requires a reinstall of windows. It sounds like you have a functioning system disk. Why not just reformat the second disk and make it a data disk?

It isn't a problem with the drive, it is a problem with trying to boot a copy of windows that is configured for a different motherboard. The drivers are wrong the "understanding" that the OS on that drive has about the motherboard it is trying to run on is wrong.

Think of it like a GPS that was turned off in LA but you are now in NY. It won't show the correct position. GPS will correct itself, Windows won't.

Well that sounds like a good idea. Know of a site with a good guide to reformat the disc?
