I seem to be getting very low fps in games that I would think I could play. Not sure if my gpu isn't being used or what. Specs: i7-5500u(3ghz), Radeon R9 275x, 8 gigs ram. Im wondering is their is a way for me to monitor my gpu to make sure it is turning on. Thanks for any help!

hw info and gpuz can help, also msi afterburner has an on screen display you can set up to show gpu usage, temps, fps, that kind of thing. But if you open hw info and gpuz up before you play a game and turn the sensors tab on both, it will keep a record of things while you game or benchmark. Then take a screenshot of the cpu section in hw info that shows cpu usage, cpu temps and cpu clock speeds and also a screenshot of the gpuz graph that shows gpu usage and temps and clock speeds and such.

You're welcome. A couple things I see from that...one it looks like it's running on integrated graphics, in the hw info page it's showing intel hd graphics. Try using ddu uninstaller to uninstall your drivers and install new ones. Download them from amd or wherever before you uninstall. Try removing your graphics card and then reseating it too. If that doesn't work, you'll need to go into bios and make sure you have the pcie selected for the graphics portion and make sure integrated graphics are disabled.
Also the temps on your cpu are hitting extremely high temps, close to the max...what cooler do you have for your cpu and how long has it been on there? It's at throttling point and dangerous to keep running it that high.

This is a laptop? hmmmm....I don't know that much about gaming laptops so I probably wont be of much help to you but your cpu temps are very high and it's throttling from the high temps, I don't know if maybe because it gets so hot that your graphics card is then shutting off to protect itself...again I don't know much about gaming laptops so I'm just guessing here.

Try doing the clean install of your drivers...it could be reading it wrong. Try that and see if it helps any, see if you can get in the bios and doublecheck to make sure it hasn't been changed over somehow to using integrated graphics and not your card.

You shouldn't have too but I'm not sure of the process in a laptop when you can't physically remove the card and have it detected when you reinsert it.
