Thank you for the help!
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XRZF23

Hoping my build can handle at great fps. Plan to do lots of video editing, graphic design (Photoshop, Cinema 4D, After Effects, etc.), gaming (CS:GO, Minecraft, League of Legends, Battlefront III, Call of Duty III), duel screening (1080p screens probably). Don't plan to overclock.

Friends are saying I should upgrade to i7 (maybe go from Haswell to Skylake), and should invest in watercooling because cleaning the dust is a pain. I am on a budget, and this is my first PC build. So open to any advice and critique to my current PC build.

Solution
No way the 4gb 960 is worth $250 - go with the 380 4gb at that price.

The only benefit of a z97 board is it allows overclocking.
The 4590 is a locked CPU & can't be over clocked.

Anyways you'd be better off with a Xeon for editing/rendering use (essentially its an i7 without integrated graphics).

Squeezed you a 240gb ssd in too.

Hi, I've done some changes to this build, added a i5 4690K (Overclockable CPU) with a slight better motherboard (has USB 3.1 + M2 slot), changed the HDD to a hybrid drive, added a water cooler but you can always add it in the future.
what is important to me is the GPU, the radeon R9 380 is better then the GTX 960 by around 20% from my experience, here is just an indication:
http://www.hwcompare.com/19967/geforce-gtx-960-vs-radeon-r9-380-4g/

here is the build:

Good Luck and have fun!

The R9-380 is faster at 1440p resolutions but neck and neck at 1080p. If you get it your system will use more electric, produce more heat and need about 100W larger power supply then the one I specified in my build. Its a good card especially if you want to run a 1440p monitor.

Sites like HWCompare are useless but at least this site had the proper disclaimer "Please note that the above 'benchmarks' are all just theoretical"

What H97 instead of Z97?
