hi guys, i'm building my trading PC and looking into the features of the MOBO (Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H Micro ATX) I saw that it doesn't support SLI with the GT720. So....because i'm a total newbie on it, I need some advice about the best alternatives for the GPU and the MOBO

Thanks!!

You do not need to run SLI, which combines the power of multiple cards to improve the performance of a single monitor (used for demanding games); you want to run up to six monitors, which means multiple video cards, but they are not connected together for SLI.
Your motherboard can run a couple of those monitors, but wanting six, you'll still likely need two cards. This means two PCIe slots, although they don't have to be X16 slots. Some B85 and H97 boards have a second PCIe 2.0 slot, running at x4. It won't offer suitable performance for games, but is fine for business text and graphics like your trading.

I'd keep the motherboard and buy a new single good GPU and you'll probably need a new power supply as well. The main question is what is your budget? You can replace the 720 with just about any GPU out right now. Unless you really want SLI, Crossfire or CPU overclocking, there is no need to replace the motherboard.

I need to run three 21.5" monitors now and i want the chance to upgrade the configuration to 6 monitors in few months for a trading-online PC. My configuration will be the following

CPU Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage Crucial BX100 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card EVGA GeForce GT 720 1GB Video Card
Case Fractal Design Core 1500 MicroATX Mini Tower Case
Power Supply XFX ProSeries 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive LG GH24NSC0 DVD/CD Writer
Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit)
Wireless Network Adapter TP-Link TL-WN881ND 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter
Monitor 3 X Samsung S22C200B 21.5" Monitor (or LG IPS 22 22MP57VQ)

....but the MOBO doesn't support SLI so I suppose I can't add 2 GT720....

Even if your motherboard did support SLI, the GT 720 doesn't. You cannot SLI two GT 720s because it is a low end GPU and doesn't have the SLI bridge connector on it. Your best option is to buy a new, better single GPU like a GTX 950 or a R7 370. If you could somehow SLI two 720s, one 950 or one 370 would absolutely destroy it in any application. Plus, both of those cards can easily drive 3x monitors. The 720 is nothing more than a simple display adapter. In fact, it is barely better than the GPU inside of your CPU, the HD 4600. The 950 and 370 would be fine with your current PSU as well.

For 6 monitors, you would need at least a GTX 950 as it is the lowest end Nvidia card that can do SLI and I believe you would need 2x of them to do 6 monitors.
