Mic audio through headphone jack?

Hey, I don't know if this is the right thread. But my question is, can I transmit my microphone audio through the headphone jack? My front panel has 2 ports, headphones and mic, but my headphones have only one connector, is there something I can do to make it transmit audio from my microphone and I can still be able to hear?

No, unless its a headset port (which it likely is not), it only has 2 channels and a common ground inside, so it can't pull mic sounds in. many headsets for a PC come with 2 plugs for this reason.

Yeah, just using a pair of crappy headphones that came with my phone, so I was just wondering. Waiting for my headset to come in. Thanks for your help though!
