So recently I've been looking around for "the dream PC" and found this motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132573

This is my current motherboard.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130722

Now keep in mind if i were to get this new motherboard. I would Upgrade my Memory to:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820242019

And I would upgrade my processor as well to this:
http://ark.intel.com/products/80807/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_40-GHz

My other PC specs are on my profile if needed.

Thank you for your time, Adam

You can swap out the ram/cpu/motherboard no problem but you need to do all at once and listen to the ISSUES. They're is two issues one being the ram. You linked DDR4 ECC. ECC is ment for Xeon cpu's and servers and don't work with Core/i3/i5/i7 so your ram will not work pick non ecc ram. Your processor WILL NOT WORK. You linked a LGA 1150 CPU and a 1151 motherboard. #1 Sockets 1150 cpu's can only use DDR3, #2 a 1150cpu will not fit/work in a 1151 motherboard. Get a i7 6700k

Anything will work, But you also need a new CPU the one you linked won't work

So would this work for memory? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231966

Yes it should be compatible with any Z170 motherboards.

If that's the mobo you want the Rock's Z170M - then first you need a compatible CPU like a 6600K or 6700K something that is socket 1151 compatible. The 4790K is a socket 1150 CPU. ON to DRAM if even considering 32GB, then get it now in a single package, there's no guarantees if you get 16GB now that you'll be able to ADD another 16GB set, even if it's the same exact model. Further if only getting 16GB - then get a 2x8GB set, which is less stress on the MC (memory controller) than a 4x4GB set. For DRAM I'd look at the GSkill Ripjaws V or their new Trident Z - and with a K model CPU in 2400, 2666 or 2800

The 'first' mobo you mentioned was the Asus Z170M and as explained it's an 1151 and won't work with the 1150 4790K. The last you mentioned is the MSI Z97 mobo which will work, but as mentioned they and their QC (Quality control) have been going downhill for years. They used to be a very strongf #3 in mobo sales back in 2008 or so and started slipping, ASRock caught and passed them for #3 2009/10 and have been steadily pulling away as MSI sales continue to fall. Rather than work on QC and put some money into it, they put the money into gimmicky advertising and trying to recreate themselves in a new image

Best way I've found is back up all your data files, put the drive in the new build and Win 7 will normally boot after it 'sees' the new hardware, load it's default drivers, then you load the latest drivers from the mobo website, run a good Registry Cleaner (Wise has a good free version), and then it will probably tell you you need to reactivate Win, which is no big deal, it will prob have you call it's auto activation line
