Noctua NH-D14, case, GPU and RAM clearance?

I'm going to buy the Noctua NH-D14 because I have been running my FX-6300 on stock speeds and the stock cooler and I want cooler temperatures as well as some overclocking before I purchase a FX-8350 in a few months. I have a Corsair Carbide 200R case, a GTX 760, 8GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, and an Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0. I heard that the NH-D15 won't fit in the case without it rumbling against the side, and I've heard differing statements on whether the NH-D14 will fit. I also need to know whether I'll have clearance to add another 8 gigs of the same RAM. I assume my GPU will still fit in the pcie x16 slot. Any help would be appreciated!

Perfect link! It says it won't fit if the RAM is over 44mm. My RAM is 40mm so it looks like it'll cut it close, but will fit!

Thanks, glad to know it will fit fine in the case!

Just keep in mind the 44mm clearance is regarding the cooler fins, not the front cooling fan which hangs lower in its original position. The front fan will have to be shifted upward some which will increase the overall height of the cooler + fans. If the front fan has to be raised too much it may not fit the case and may need removed. It will be a close fit.

The cooler can be rotated 90 degrees so the fan blows towards the top though, right? Or is that a bad way to install it?

As per noctua's nh-d14 product page faq section, no it can't. It only installs horizontally with airflow moving front to back (or back to front).

"Can the cooler be installed turned by 90° on AMD sockets?
No. The new SecuFirm2™ mounting system for AM2, AM2+ and AM3 uses the same standardised hole spacing as the Intel system and thus allows for a much easier installation, but the cooler cannot be installed turned by 90°."

Alright, thanks for the help. I went ahead and ordered it because I did some further reviews and it looks like the ram should fit ok. Worse case scenario I store the extra 8 gigs of ram somewhere until I choose a different cooling solution.

The RAM will fit okay, confirmed by Noctua themselves. I posted the link in my first response. If you scroll down the RAM compatibility list you'll see the DDR3 Ripjaws X with a big green tick. You're all good.

It's not that the cooler won't fit, it's that the front fan hangs below the cooler's fins making the clearance LESS than 44mm. How much the fan has to be raised or can be raised will have to be seen once installed in the case. As noctua says, if the front fan doesn't fit with the ram installed (regardless if it fits the cooler itself beneath the fixed cooling fins which cannot be adjusted), simply adjust the front fan up or if space doesn't allow - remove it. Take the front fan off and reduce it to a single fan cooler and it will fit all day long. That's what noctua's ram compatibility lists. The fact the ram will physically fit with the cooler itself, the fan is adjustable/removable.
