Hi i have asus z170a and i5 6600k and when i first power it up i have seen mesage asus overclock 22% i had no idea whats going on and i turned bios on to find my cpu (6600k) being overclock out of the box to 4.3ghz single core 4.2 2nd core and 4.1 3rd and 4th core. Why did my mobo oc my i5 without asking me anything? (Vcore 1.185)
And that was before i instaled windows then i manualy lowered all to factory setings.

Hello

That is a bit weird. Asus boards have an Auto CPU level up, so I am guessing that that was enabled by default. You can just turn that off if you don't want the OC. But you are right that it should not be overclocked out of the box.

I have the same thing after my BIOS Posts. 22%...I've been trying to figure out why my temps are so high. This dynamic overclocking and turbo boost is really annoying because it gives you no control and I frankly don't trust 'auto' settings.
