Okay so recently my MSI r9 280x has started to veer off when it comes to performance at 1080p with everything maxed out (which I can't really do anymore) so I just wanted to ask the community on what do you think i should get for a budget between £400-500. I also wanted to mention that I have an i5 4590 and 8gb vengeance ram, all of my storage is fine just purely looking for a graphics card, thanks.

The R9 Fury X and NVidia 980ti are just over £500.
The R9 Fury is in your price range and is better then the NVidia 980.

Everything maxed out is hard to get w/ some games now a days. And you already have a very good gpu (MSI r9 280x).
If you want buy a gpu that show a really meaningful upgrade the GTX 980 ti is what you are looking for.
Can you buy one GTX980ti at your price range. Sure.

I've had two CX PSU's fail. One time taking out a motherboard in the process. So I learned my lesson and now only buy tier-1 or tier-2 power supplies.
The CX series is Tier-4. Which the Toms Hardware list says you should avoid unless your budget dictates otherwise. There are worse units out there after all.

So i dont think its worth the risk.
