I'm a technician and i'm self taught. I have several customers that bring in laptops needing factory restored so they can sell them or for other reasons. Sometimes i get in ones that just will not do it the usual way of f8 then "repair my computer" and then factory reset. I do that a lot and i know how to do it well. This computer i have has an issue with the recovery partition i think and i'm needing to download a vista 64Bit Home premium iso and just use the COA tag to activate it. Is there not a place to legally download an ISO for people that want to do things legally and use the COA tag?

Hello... Yes there was a public site for this but now you must go to Microsoft site and type in the COA/Key for the Download. I burned my ISO's to DVD for easy access now.

It's the customer's responsibility to create recovery media initially or purchase it later if they happen to need it. Explain their options to them and be finished.

Hello... +1 ^ I tried to keep someones XP working good and ran into the IE upgrade problems... If they want a good running and safe internet experience, they will need a Supported OS installed.
