Hey guys, I figured I would ask the pros before I pull the trigger. I need advice on my first PC build. I plan to use this computer to play WOW and run my engineering programs for school like Matlab, Autocad, Solidworks etc. Tell me what you guys think.

My concerns:
1. Should I be looking at the skylake line cpu's?
2. Do I have enough PSU to overclock and possibly run a water cooler later down the road?

Thanks guys

Solution
Just get an Cryorig H7, will cool the 5820k very well. My hyper 212 cools my 4 gjz 5820k with the highest peak temp of 76c on cores. So, you will be fine/

It is a very solid build, I think if you're looking to spend the money, you should get the latest architecture. I will admit that I don't know masses about the programs you mentioned, but that PC does seem a little overkill. I mean, it will run anything which is good I guess, but you could spend less and still be able to run games like WOW on more than max settings.

But if you're looking to spend that amount, it works.

Just to answer your question, I can't see a reason why that 850W [strike]CPU[/strike] PSU wouldn't be enough to both OC and water cool.

why do you want to OC and watercool? Just curious. Air cooling should be good enough and Ocing doesn't reap the same benefits as it used to, at least not on an Intel.

Maybe this should serve you better with you rlimited gaming needs:

I'm trying to figure out why you would suggest a 3.3-3.6 GHz CPU instead of the I7 4790k @ 4-4.4GHz? I'm not looking to overclock and water cool right away but I did want to keep that option open in case I choose to pursue that.

Thx guys
