so the background is for my itx pc I'm saving for, I was going to get the maximus VII impact, but asus just released the skylake one, still looking up if skylake is actually worth the extra for a solely gaming pc, but the impact VIII only has 2 fan headers, one for the CPU cooler, and one for case fans, I want to use 2 case fans, mainly as its just better to have more, a 200mm in the front, and a 120mm in the back, both 3 pin fans, so if I split them, they should run at their individual speeds for each fan right? as the voltage increases, they will both ramp up, but completely independently of each other as the PC has no idea how fast they are spinning anyway.

even though one is 200mm and one is 120mm, with completely different speeds? and both using voltage as the control method.

but each fan will spin at different speeds at the same voltage, every fan has an rpm range depending on the motors in them, for the corsair SP120 I plan to use, that range is 900-1500rpm, between 5-12 volts, not sure on the range is on the 200mm spectre pro, but the max is 900, which will be 12 volts, not to mention the whole thing of not putting 2 fans of different sizes, is completely thrown out by the fact there are products build for just that, i.e. the Noctua NH L12 CPU cooler.
