Router Cascading with ASUS RT-N56U and Netgear R6250

My issue is fairly simple, I am trying to cascade routers with the ASUS RT-N56U being the first router after the cable modem, and the NETGEAR R6250 up one floor for the wireless. I do not have the ASUS router connected through its WAN port. I Do wish to have the Netgear router accessible as there are wired connections at the ASUS Router that need to be intact.

When I attempt to connect wirelessly to the ASUS RT-N56U it has full throughput/bandwidth no issues, however when I attempt to connect to the wireless signal from the NETGEAR R6250, it only gets 5mbps max down (my connection is 60mbps). Upload does not appear to be affected as it works equally well on both wireless signals.

I have DHCP turned on the ASUS RT-56U and turned OFF on the NETGEAR R6250 and feel like this should be simple enough to run a cable into one of the 4 switch ports in back and turn on wireless with the NETGEAR R6250 and it should be good to go but hence I am turning here for help. I also have designated the NETGEAR R6250 Router as a static IP and the DHCP server starts with the next number after the static (ex: DHCP/ASUS is 192.168.1.1 NETGEAR R6250 is 192.168.1.2 and Auto Assigning starts at 192.168.1.3-xxx....)

Thanks in advance,

Due to the fact that the ASUS had even more issues when I used it as the secondary Router I put the ASUS RT-N56U as the primary about a month ago.

Which firmware are you running on the N56U? I have been running Padavan on both my two N56Us.

Im getting good signal at the wall outlet on the NETGEAR level so I know its not the cable, I went further and tested the LAN connection out from the NETGEAR router and it was fine, its the wireless, both with the ASUS and NETGEAR routers that has had so many issues.

If you have two things, which both have similar results, maybe you are looking at the wrong culprit.

Which setting in any given router would recognize the internet coming in from a switch port and I could prioritize bandwidth on it?
