So at around Christmas time I should have around 250 euro. Keep in mind that it's euro because I live in Ireland. But I want a GPU that i can play game on High Settings and get 60+ fps in most cases. I will be playing games like Call Of Duty, Assasins Creed, GTA5 etc. I was thinking of buying the R9 280x on amazon but I know that AMD has gotten rid of them and replaced them with the 380 and such. So should I get that or is there a better alternative ? Please don't tell me to wait until I have the money and get a GTX 970.

Thanks

I have a 750W PSU but as I said, I cannot afford the 970

That PSU is good for both GTX 970 or R9 390.
If you can get R9 280X at R9 380 price point , then you should get that. Otherwise R9 380 is solid choice.

Is the R9 280X better than the 380 ? Both the GTX 970 and 390 are really expensive in Ireland
