Does anyone here have a Xeon 1231v3 and play Arma 3, preferably King of the Hill? I'm wondering what kind of framerates you get with the CPU. I currently have a 6300 overclocked and the highest frames I ever get while playing caps right around 30, but rarely is there and is normally between 10-20, sometimes even lower in an intense battle (I know that it isn't a GPU issue. I have the game maxed out and stay around 10-20fps, maybe a bit more in multiplayer and have tried dropping the settings all the way down with the same result). So I was curious if anyone has experience with this CPU while playing. The reason I'm planning on choosing the 1231v3 over a 4690k is because I won't need a Z97 board which will be cheaper or an aftermarket cooler (I'm thinking about putting this in a mITX build). I would also like for my computer to give off less heat, as it can heat up my room a good bit.
Anyone have any input?
Thanks!

On my sig rig, in king of the hill with 100+ players I get 30-40fps in the start area, low 30s on way to tower and right in the middle of the town/battle I get usually around 25fps going up to 40 inside buildings etc. Not as bad as it sounds though it plays mostly smooth enough to be perfectly playable, our best hope of a solid 60fps in arma seems to be with dx12.

It's practically the same as the 4790 of which is what i use so yes that is going to be a very good cpu for that. It is also cheaper than the 4790. Very good choice. And Yes it will be much faster than your 6300.

Like I said though, when I take into account a z97 board and aftermarket cooling, it comes out to be more expensive. And I'd rather have less heat coming off when gaming

I don't think that is in multiplayer, though. In single player, my 6300 works just fine, but in MP it kinda starts to show its weakness

That sounds like a really good upgrade to me. Thank you!
I think this was supposed to be a given, but I'm assuming you have the 1231v3? And what GPU?

Edit: I just checked your signature and saw your rig. Thank you for your help!

Eh. I mean I overclocked my 6300, but I just followed a guide. It wasn't that fun for me, but it was interesting. Especially since once you get it where you want it, you just leave it anyways so it'll keep me occupied for maybe a day. To each his own, though

Just to mention I use pretty high custom settings I enjoy arma3 eye candy and the v3 xeon should be a bit better than mine, it really is a top tier cpu, enjoy!
