Building a Desktop for $1000 USD

I’m helping a friend build a new desktop computer but I’m running into some issues as far as meeting his target price. He doesn’t want to spend more than $1000.00 (USD) and the goal of his system is to

A) Play League of Legends at Maximum Settings at a High Framerate
B) Record and possibly stream League with Open Broadcast Software and Twitch.

In my build I have tried to stick with brands I trust (i.e. good experience with them in the past) and I’m trying to give him a little future proofing. Maybe this is trying too much for his budget, but I’m not sure where to cut costs. Below is my build and any advice on where I might cut costs would be appreciated.

Thanks!

***EDIT: See Updated System in my lower post. Thanks!****

Solution
The build is too ambitious for the price point IMO. All he is doing is playing and streaming twitch.
1. Ditch the GTX 970. It's super over kill. Sub in a GTX 960
2. Drop down to 8GB of Memory.
3. Ditch the optical drive. You can install windows from a USB stick.
4. Replace the SSD with a lower end model. They pretty all perform the same real world.

All that should shave about 400 off the build. If you can't squeeze more out of him then your looking at making some big changes.

5. The Antec 900 is a terrible case by today's standards. Believe me I've owned both the 900 and the 1200. Get a more practical case...

6. Power Supply is too expensive. Replace it with a cheaper unit.

7. Ditch the mechanical keyboard. He can do with a standard one for now.

Solution
Does he really need a mechanical keyboard or that mouse? You could save a lot of money just getting him something generic instead.

Optical drive, why?

You can drop down the power supply size a bit.

You can save some money going refurb on that GPU. EVGA cycles them through their store, none right now, EVGA B-Stock. Got a 980 from there for around $150 off the new price. I think the 970s knock of 50 or 75 bucks.

That's not a K series CPU so why the motherboard to support that feature. This is the K series, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117561&cm_re=i5-6600k-_-19-117-561-_-Product
