Hi,

So I leave my computer (which is on) for an hour or longer because I forget to turn it off. The computer goes into sleep mode, like it should, and when I turn it back on the graphics card or something fails on me. Basically it boots back up fine but in a minute or less after using the computer thin lines appear on the screen and everything freezes up and then they go away within a few seconds and everything is fine. This lines appear about every 30 seconds or so and eventually the entire screen crashes, forcing me to restart or shutdown the computer. After this all happens I have to turn off the computer for a day or two and it somehow automatically fixes. Before shutting it down completely for the time, I reset the BIOS to default settings. After the time is up the computer works 100% fine and only breaks down if it goes into sleep mode again.

I have a Gateway SX2370-UR30P with windows 7. The processor is an AMD Quad-Core A6-3600 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 2.10 GHz but the graphics card I use is an Nvidia GeForce 210. Finally it is a 64-bit operating system. Also, all of my drivers are up to date.

Thanks

this is not actually your graphic card issue. this issue has been with Win7 for a while now. i have had this issue before in my office computers... there is s microsoftt hot fix for this.. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977178/ (crash caused by slow hd initialization)... and also check if ther are any unsupported drivers.. it can be that as well.... most of the time when you start a computer on a freesh state there are few drivers fireup while starting. but when your computer is on sleep almost all drivers are runung. so thats why we dont see anyt issue when we re-start a computer...

i hope this issue will fix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977178/ (crash caused by slow hd initialization)...

and try to go to advanced power managment and set the hard disk sleep to never.. that may also help in this case.... let us know
