to cut to the chase everything was working fine last night when i switched it off

went to power on today and nothing, checked all the switches and power connections

saw that the soft LED standby power light is on as well as the 1500w Silverstone PSU red light was also on, so power is going to the board - thought it might be the new case i picked up under a year ago so tried to jumper the power switch manually to force a boot [from previous exp] - so it seems the case/power switch might not be the issue

i found a smaller 450w PSU and the standby green LED comes on but again no boot/post, although this only had 4-PIN 12v cable and not an 8-PIN

here are the guts:
I7 2700k // 280x GPU // 16GB Vengence RAM // 240gb SSD + 2 HDD // Silverstone 1500w PSU

never had any issues before, this is the 2nd Case its been installed too and has been working in it perfectly fine for around 5 months - i will test the PSU on another tower we have here to eliminate that one ASAP

any suggestions i might consider or have missed?

CMOS was reset, im pretty advanced with my knowledge just thought i might have missed something here - last attempt with one stick and the SSD, still no joy - will buy another LGA1155 board and see what happens!

the motherboard itself has various LED for solving issues with components but its just not getting anywhere near to that

well there is a Asus service centre near me, i will call on monday - https://www.asus.com/au/support/Service-Center/Australia

so oddly the night before it as working we had guests in the room the machine was powered off but obviously in soft state

now there is 2xUSB 3 ports next to the ower switch on top of the machine, this had a charging lead in it, when i removed i can see slight rusting on the contacts - is it possible that if something/fluid got spilt on that, something led back to the mobo and thus why it wont POST/BOOT? shot in the dark but might help explain
