What is probably confusing you is this: https://www.asus.com/es/Motherboards/H97PLUS/HelpDesk_QVL/

The "New_SSD_List" isn't a comprehensive list of ALL drives that work with your motherboard, only an update on some of the most recent SSD releases.

If you want to use the m.2 850 EVO your motherboard can run it just fine.

Futher verification: The crucial SSD site has M.2 drives recommended specficially for your board: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/ASUS/h97-plus#ssdResults
That SSD will work just fine. What you're looking for is that is an M.2 socket SSD, and your motherboard's specs say:

intel® H97 chipset :
1 x M.2 Socket 3, , with M Key, type 2260/2280 storage devices support (both SATA & PCIE mode)*2
6 x puerto(s) SATA 6Gb/s, gris
Compatible con Raid 0, 1, 5, 10
Compatible con Intel® Smart Response Technology, Intel® Rapid Start Technology, Intel® Smart Connect Technology

The M.2 Samsung EVO 850 will fit within your M.2 socket on your Motherboard without any problem.
