what should i get? does it matter?

APFC circuits in any PSU are susceptible to non-sine waves that are generated by backup UPS.

If you use it for a long time, it will damage your PSU APFC circuit, so in other words over time it will damage your PSU.

But, will it work? Yes, but don't use it for a long time (more than 5 minutes). The main purpose of backup UPS just to give you time to save your work and shut down the computer.

If you're really worried about it and can afford the pure-sign model here is what you would want (the same model you linked in your update): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00429N19W

I'm really pushing my mental limits understanding everything about pc's this summer not to mention I'm a moron so I'm struggling here, so I'll ask: is there anything else to consider or worry about or am I done here and can have peace of mind if I just get this pure sine UPS? Thanks a boat load in advance.
