My windows 8.1 HP Envy laptop has just completed a windows update and now the Wifi is not working but in a very strange fasion.
On the task bar it shows the wi-fi connected with internet access. I've tested a browser and pinging various servers. There's definitely no internet access. If I click on the wi-fi on the task bar then it shows no wi-fi connections available and that it's not connected (Completely disagreeing with what the task bar says!)
I usually connect to wi-fi at my university, so I fully shut down my laptop at uni. Then at home (2 miles away, no possibility of a uni wi-fi connection) I booted up my laptop. It still shows on the task bar that it's connected to the university wi-fi, with internet access. Again clicking on wi-fi on the task bar it then shows that no connections are available and that it's not connected!!
Has anyone else ever seen this problem, or have any idea how to get it working again?
Many thanks,
Pete
