Graphic Card Recommendation for a Three monitors setup with at least one of them 4K/5K

Hi All,

Need a new graphics card for my next setup. It's not so much for playing but for working (or, at least, that's what I'm trying to convince my wife ;) ), so the focus is not so much on frame-rates as on support for three screens (and, of course, stability, heat, noise).

My current setup supports three screens at 1920x1200 (center), and 1050x1680 (left and right).

I would hope the new setup would be able to support 4K / 5K at least at the center, and 2560x1600 at the left and right displays, all with decent frequency.

Are such graphic cards available at reasonable prices? Which would you recommend?

P.S. New build will be Skylake, Windows 10

Or maybe I should wait and in the meantime use lower resolution monitors?

Thanks!

And what would be your choice for the least expensive card which would still be great at supporting this setup and work well re stability, heat, noise, text quality... ? (i.e. what's good-enough?)

if all you want to do is use three monitors for windows then it doesnt take much

IF you want to game useing a 4k + other screens then you will need something like four gtx 980 ti and even then your fps will be low and would need to reduce settings to get playable

multi screen 4k gaming is years away

you are better off with two 1440p monitors with CF r9 390's if you wanted to game

I don't want to game at 3x4K. (and my gaming is strategy - CIV - Not graphics bound). What I want is to work using 2x2560x1600 and 1x4K/5K, with a stable, silent and cool card. Mostly text (surfing, development) but also some (home) video editing. Any help with what card is good-enough?

the cheaper the card the more it will need to work, the hotter and noisier it becomes

minimum a 980 ti if you want to play civ5 4k + 2 more monitors, even then you will need to reduce settings
