I am wondering if haswell will release any processors for the 2011-3 motherboards next year or is skylake taking over this year

Solution

Yes. That's what it means.

But if you have LGA 2011-3 motherboard and a cpu fitting on it...you won't even NEED upgrade. You probably already have higher performance cpu than what Skylake is.
And if not, that means there is some Haswell-E cpu you could upgrade into.

Haswell is LGA 1150 socket while Skylake is LGA 2011-3. Totally incompatible! No way to fit one into the other.

Yes, "Skylake is taking over" from Haswell. Don't expect any more new Haswell CPUs.

Actually, Skylake is LGA1151
LGA 2011-3 is Haswell-E.

Anyway, there probably won't be anymore Haswell-E cpus on LGA2011-3 socket, but instead there probably will be something like LGA 2011-4 which holds Skylake-E.
