Solution

Asking 'why' is very often the first statement that should be made.
"How do I do X?"
An answer of 'OK, do blah, blah...' is quite often a non-optimal solution.

In reality, a whole different solution can be found, which will fix the actual problem, not the supposed problem.
This is the classic X-Y situation.

Seeing as Tom's Hardware has a strict line against assisting with password circumvention, and seeing as needing to do this on 300 devices (your IT dept?) is a bit odd....this is why the questions arise.

If this were related...

Well...having a stack of 300 iPads, that are password protected, and needing to reset them...is a bit odd.
And usually would be under the realm of the company IT department.

If the company IT department in charge of doing this needs to come to a forum such as Tom's to figure out how to do this....multiple somebodies are in the wrong job.

You see my face? I don't look like a thief do I?. I'm working as a workshop engineer and we have received 300 ipads and 80 iphones to reset, they're older iPads to be given to charities. You can believe it or not but that's the truth.
Any useful answers now?

If this were related to one iPad "How can I reset a passcode protected iPad?"...this would have been closed immediately.
300? Interesting, and we might want to see what the conversation brings.

So....how does one come into possession of 300 passcode protected iPads?

Looking at the gentleman's location, I can assure you all that a friend of mine who is a senior member of Thames Valley Constabulary often reads threads in Tom's and will definitely read this one.

If the situation is as described, he won't be concerned but if it is not, bolts from the blue wlil be raining down on Slough.

I took th eposter's advice and looked at his photograph but I only saw Detective Columbo.
