As the title says, I have 5 80GB PATA HDDs so if I connect them up (I have a few PATA to SATA converter) as spanned disks, will it be very slow? Like what speed would I get say that when copying a 4GB iso file for example? I'm very confused about how slow it is so please help.

So will I find a very noticable difference between my PATA and SATA drives?

80 GB drives would be pretty old, they will be quite a bit slower than a newer hard drive. The interface it not so much the issue, just the fact that it's old and slower drives in general. If they are used they would also be slower due to bad sectors developing and the drive having to move around those, so you will likely have throughput issues vs a new drive.

I simply want to use these extra HDDs as ones where I save my game recordings, not run any OS or store any important files on it. Having the recording saved to a different HDD stops unnecessary FPS drops. Anways, I got a few quite cheap PATA to SATA converters and the drives are working sweet for my usage.
