I've had a GTX 960 for almost a year now, and its been working really badly. I've always considered it to be kinda bad at running games, until I installed it into my friend's computer! It was running games on a higher Resolution with a better FPS then I run on my shitty resolution and lower settings (1080p Ultra preset for the most, I run 900p medium presets). We tested it on Shadow Of Mordor and that got 6 fps higher then average Online benchmarks on Ultra High 1080p (47), we tested Battlefield 4 1080p and it was with the average online benchmarks too (around 54-60 avg on ultra preset) were my computer performs it even worse on 900p. I know its got to be one or two of my part's but I am short on money, meaning I can't just replace my whole computer but need to track the certain part's and replace it. Would love to hear if anyone of you have a fix or even a theory! I've done a lot of research and have seen nothing relating to my problem. Yes I've re-installed my drivers and deleted them! I'll post my parts below.

Specs:

CPU: Intel i5 3470
Motherbored: B75M-PLUS
Ram: 8gb
GPU: GTX 960
PSU: some 550w one that I can't seem to find the brand for...

To me these are the only suspects :D If you need me to list other parts ask and I shall get them!
Thanks for taking you're time to read this.

Well, let me put things this way. Google, which knows something about E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. does not know about GH Power. So ask yourself. If someone makes a product that they are proud of, would they not slap a label on the side of that something to let people know who made it, so that they might someday come back and buy more of the companies products? I think I see you nodding affirmatively. Good.

So in that case who would sell something like your power supply, and NOT put a label on it? Maybe someone that used real cheap components so they could sell a ton of them to someone, and then they could vanish in the night before anyone had any problems, so that they could keep the money they got from making junk. I suspect this is the...
Well, ok... You told us your systems main specs... How does your friends system compare to yours. There is obviously something different in their system as compared to yours.

My initial guess is that your friend has a Z series motherboard instead of a B series that you have. And since the Z series can be overclocked, he probably has done some overclocking. He might also have a newer CPU, different version of Windows, more memory, or something else going on that lets your video card function at a higher level on his system than yours does.

And you might have a crappy little power supply that is not giving your system the power it should be giving it, while your friend might have a better quality power supply or higher capacity one, which is letting his hardware perform better than yours. So find that brand name on the power supply. It could be very important in this.

I shall get back to you on hes computer specs as he is asleep but I do know they are better then mine but aren't High high tier. Like a i5-4690k, Z brand asus motherbored (I'm guessin) and a pretty decent power supply.
As for my the power supply there are no real stand out logos, the only thing that does stand out is "GH Power" but I can not seem to find the company, the Model is PSU55W and I can't seem to track down anything through that at all. I am working on Up-grading ever part, I understand that better parts will lead to better performance for my 960! but It shouldn't be as shit as it is, my mates 750ti out-does my damn 960, and he runs 1080p as I run 700-900p. I really am frustrated about this damn ordeal because It took me awhile to save up for the card.

I suspect this is the story with your power supply.

I do want you to check one thing. Open the Control Panel, click on Power Options. Is your system set to High Performance? If not, change it to High Performance.

Wow mate, I had never considered that. I am now working on getting a new Power supply. My mate said he had card problems too till he upgraded hes old unknown Power supply so I've always had a hunch it was my PSU! I just set My computer to high performance. I'm looking at a tutorial on how to uninstall and delete every driver on my PC, do you think its a good Idea to do this? I've already done it multiple times but I'm not sure if its been the right way.

My girlfriend bought me metro 2033 and metro light from steam since it was on sale, I played for like 6 mins then gave up to try the Performance trick you told me and HOLY CRAP! I was getting 42 avg on high and medium, I then got back on to notice like 60 fps and above, it was insane! I can run it on higher settings with better performance!
