Hi, I'm looking to update my graphics card for my old computer and was wondering what a good card would be. I have a HP Pavilion P6214y (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01905330) with a geforce GT 430.

I was looking at a geforce GTX 750 TI, but I read that it needs a 6 pin power supply and I don't see one in my case, just 4 pin supplies, is there an adapter for this that I could use? Is this even a good idea with my 300w power supply? How much improvement can I expect to see? Sorry if I'm a bit of a noob and thanks for any help or suggestions :)

Unfortunately a 300W PSU from that PC isn't going to be enough. If you want to run the GTX750Ti then you will need to upgrade your PSU. In terms of PSU suggestions, here are some:
Seasonic S12-II 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Wired Power Supply
XFX TS 550W 80 Plus Gold certified Power Supply Unit

Thank you for the response :)

What's the best graphics card I can get without upgrading my power supply (just so I can compare)?
