Ok since I have pretty much diagnosed the lag on my PC down to this, the cores are overheating this is causing the throttling of the CPUs meaning lag (I assume). Furthermore, the speeds of my PC seem to be reasonably fast after starting up from a whole night to cool down, so I can only assume it is because it is not as hot yet for the CPU to throttle.
[Just thought I would add a background idea of what is going on]
Here's an image using the software HWInfo (incase future readers need this to diagnose, click on sensors to see CPU temps)
So anyway, since this is the most probable issue to the lag how do I resolve this?
I am assuming buying a better heatsink for my CPU (i5 4440 - 4 core) which is currently using the default intel one
I believe I would need thermal paste or whatever it's called as well?
Would this all be correct to bring the temperature of a CPU down to normal temperatures so it won't throttle and cause any more lag?
But since opening the side, I noticed the two side fans seem to turn on and off automatically probably controlled by the temperature, should I see if I can get them to run all the time?
Thank you for taking the time to read, Lethem
