Should I get a new computer or just upgrade the RAM in my 2011 21" iMac?

Not sure if it's in the correct category...
Currently, i'm mostly using my iMac to just play games, and that's pretty much it except for some work, which is much less than my playtime. However, the 4GB RAM that's installed is too low and barely above the minimal requirement for most games these days (since only 2.23 is usable because i'm running on windows 7 32-bit).
Since I've had this computer for almost 2 years now, I would imagine it'd be time for me to change (after some research that most computers last around 2 years or so).
However, it would be much cheaper to just increase the ram by putting in 2x4GB.
Current specs:
Processor: Core i5-2500S 2.70GHz
RAM: 4.00 GB (2.23 usable) (2x2GB)
System type: 32-bit
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6700M

So, should I buy a new computer built specifically for gaming? Or just stick with the iMac and upgrade it's ram? (in doing so i'll have to upgrade it to 64-bit to use all that delicious ram)

Solution
Oh yeah, I'd certainly try the RAM and 64-bit upgrade first. You'll notice a pretty significant boost in performance and the RAM isn't too expensive.

That said, depending on what games you're wanting to play, your iMac is getting towards the end of its ability to keep up. If you got the RAM upgrade you might be able to play a year (MAYBE two) longer, but after that you would still be looking at total replacement.

I'd say the best option is build a new pc for gaming. With control over the components selected you can build something better than you can buy pre-built and will last much longer, 4 years should be ok unless you are into really high end gaming which you are not. Apple computers for gaming is a weak starting point
