Hello,

TL;DR - I am looking for a CPU - nothing else - for a good price and for high power games, I have a GIGABYTE H81M-H (SOCKET 0), if you want any more info, just ask. EDIT: I have stock Intel CPU cooler.

I'm looking for a good processor for a good price - a processor, so please don't rant onto be saying I need a new mobo, or GPU - I'm asking for a processor, nothing else.

Now that's out of the way, I can explain more. Well I am looking for a new gaming processor that will be quite good for its price, I am upgrading from a Pentium G3220. I play quite a lot of games, or play games that are yet to come out, that require a lot of power out of my desktop, eg: Grand Theft Auto 5, Just Cause 3, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, Battlefield 4 and many other games - my point is I want power, for a good price.

My motherboard is a GIGIBYTE H81M-H (SOCKET 0),

If you would like any more information, please feel free to ask me, and thanks in advance.

EDIT: I have the stock Intel CPU cooler.

1 problem, I don't have any special cooling - just the stock Intel cooler, and does my mobo support CPU overclocking?

Maybe, but there is also the Xeon 1231 v3 which can match the i7s of that socket without all the extra stuff like overclocking and integrated graphics.

They still cost a bit more than the I5 and the extra money won't benefit him for gaming which is his primary purpose.

Also, I hate to nag, but is it possible to go any cheaper? Would there be any AMD processors better than my current processor (Pentium G3220) Maybe for a tiny bit cheaper?

Why would you go AMD? That would mean a motherboard change for worse single-core performance, and Assassin's Creed would never run in a million years.

It looks good, but I hate to sound demanding, but as I said to turkey - would there be any cheaper processors for decent performance? (I currently possess a Pentium G3220 @ 3.00GHz)

Maybe any cheaper Intel processors? Again, I hate to sound demanding, and also - I'm not the most tech savvy, so I didn't really realize that, sorry.

Assuming your are in the US, please correct me if wrong. Unless you are getting a mighty fine sale on it, like at a mircrocenter or something, the xeon isnt that much more than the 4690. (on newegg, like around $30)

The I5-4460 is another option. Once you go into I3 territory I think you will struggle on Assassin's Creed. Assassin's Creed games are some of the most CPU intense. They push my I5-4460 to its limits.

I am in the U.S., but what is hyperthreading going to do for games? Right now it does nothing. He wants the best bang for the buck for gaming. For streaming yeah.
