Will the Hyper 212 Evo / Plus Fit my Cougar Challenger mid-tower case? Also which of the two has better performance?

1) It will fit just fine

2) The plus is know to have slightly higher performance, but honestly it's so close that you should get whichever has the better price. Both are great heatsinks.

Either of those two coolers are far below that height.

The 212 EVO needs a case that is about 7.5 inches wide, so yours has lots of room to spare, another similar cooler is the Cryorig H7

Should fit easily , I own the Black Challenger and the Orange , PH-TC14PE in one and a Noctua D14 in the other.

Here's my oldest son's Cougar Challenger with a Phanteks TC14PE Big Air Cooler with Cougar Dual X Green LED FANS.

So you will have no issue wth the 212 EVO.
