Alienware X51 R2 Graphics/Power question

Hey guys, I recently purchased a EVGA Geforce GTX 750 TI SuperClocked for my Alienware rig, prior to putting it in my machine I wanted to come here to check; I have a 240 Watt external brick Power Supply, I understand that it is recommended that I upgrade to a 330 Before I put it into my computer. I would like to know what would happen if I did not upgrade the PSU? Will it bottleneck my computer, or will it still be playable?

if it does not have enough juice it might not turn on, or it could turn on but when you try to play a game it crashes.

General system instability etc

The 750 ti should run, if you got a version that does not need a 6-pin from the power supply

It has an optional 6-pin, does that affect anything?

yes, and it is not optional you need to plug it in

cross your fingers, and if it does not work then you need to also buy the 330w upgrade
