Depends if the motherboard has or supports the extra core unlocking feature.
Black edition based phenom cpu`s have an unlocked clock multiplier.
So i`t just a case of setting your multiplier value set in the bios to a higher value.
Try upping the multiplier value in the bios by from a round number to a half clock value example x 20 to x 20.5
to increase the overall cpu speed in Mhz.
If you change the value for example X 20 default cpu multiplier to say a value of x 22 you need to add or change the cpu core voltage of the cpu to a higher voltage setting say add 0.250Mv increase in core voltage.
Do everything in small steps for the multiplier value on the cpu core to the voltage changes, test the cpu in windows and with a cpu stress test program keeping a close eye on your temps never let it go over 60c in temp. good cooling is required to keep the extra heat at a safe point or value in C. The Amd stock cooler on the cpu will not be good enough to keep the cpu cool with overclocking applied to the cpu. You need a good cpu air cooler of £50 or so.
At the same time you must keep an eye on how hot the cpu is getting as the extra voltage and clock speed the cpu is running at will cause the cpu to heat up.
You should first check what the maximum voltage the cpu can, and will run at without breaking it. and keep slightly bellow that maximum voltage level.
And also check what the maximum operating temperature the cpu can reach before it begins thermal shut down or core speed
throttle in Mhz speed.
Max temp of a phenom X2 555 cpu should never reach over 60c in tempreture with an overclock ok.
Do not set the core voltage above 1.5v or you will damage the cpu.
There your two warning if you intend to overclock the cpu ok, so take note my friend.
