Wireless Router or Cable Modem

I've been running into a problem where my wireless devices will be connected to WiFi and after sometime will stop receiving internet signal, but am still connected to WiFi.

I've only noticed the problem on my smartphones, smart TVs, game consoles, and tablets. For whatever reason I get disconnected from the internet without losing WiFi signal. If I restart my TV I get the signal back for a while then lose it again. Same with my other devices. Sometimes I reboot both my router and modem.

This is starting to become a ridiculous hassle and I've been looking to get a better wireless router because my range is pathetic, but could it be the modem dropping my signal?

I've never experienced any droppage from being directly plugged in through an ethernet cable, that I can recall, nor can I recall anytime that my laptops have lost internet via WiFi. Only my other devices have been affected.

It's sad that it's faster for me to use 3g on my phone when I'm sitting 20 feet from the router.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

My modem was supplied by Time Warner Cable (Motorola brand I believe) and my router is a low level netgear.

Make sure you did full reboots on your equipment, if that did not work try changing your wireless Security to WPA-2 Personal, if that is selected try another WPA-2 security option and let me know the results!

I do do full reboots and currently have a WPA-2 personal encryption. I can try to change that when I get home. However, I'm not sure how long it will take to run into an problem. Sometimes it happens multiple times a day other times it won't happen for a week.

So what I noticed with my Xbox and phone is some encryption types do not work, like TKIS and other methods like that, just try to see if you can try another WPA 2 key as it is the most secure.
