I should be able open a presentation made in PPT 2010 on a PC that has PPT 2007,right?

Our shop here runs 2010 and 2000 (don't as why, corporate politics are dumb). All files are supposed to be saved as .ppt so they are easily transferable between systems. We do, however, also have a compatibility pack so if I send someone a .pptx they can still view it and edit it (though it will save on their end as a .ppt).

If you save the file as a .ppt, then that's a 97-2003 compatible file(by the fine print). A .pptx should work in 2010 and 2007, so as long as you save it properly then you shouldn't have any issues opening it on a PC with an office dating back to 1997.
