Hey guys,

I'm starting to think I'm having some sort of USB port issues. I am attempting to copy large files (1-2 GB video files) from my PC drive over to my external hard drive. At about 19% the copying process freezes, and I can move my mouse around until I hit cancel, at which point my computer freezes and I have to restart. This freezing process is accompanied by the "USB disconnect" sound effect.

Furthermore, I've been experiencing random freezes from my webcam when streaming on Twitch, I've always had to uncheck and recheck the webcam source in OBS to fix, which often results in the same USB disconnect sound effect when I perform this action. Please help me fix this problem!

Hey there, The4rchitect.

I'd recommend that you download the HDD manufacturer's diagnostics tool and test both drives (the internal and the external), to see if any errors or bad sectors pop-up. You could also try the external drive with a different USB cable (preferably shorter than 12") and a different computer, to see if you have the same issue. I'd also suggest that you run some diagnostic tests on your RAM as well. Make sure that all your drivers are up to date.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.
