Hello! I'm having problems with RAM and was wondering if any of you could shed some light on what is happening. So around January I did my first computer build, All was well until around August I started getting BSOD's; After some research I determined the problem to be the RAM. I had bought Kingston HyperX Fury Red Ram (2x8gb). I used memtest x86 with each individual module, determined one stick to be bad, removed it and everything was fine again. Fast forward to middle of September, I decide to use the warranty I have on my RAM. I contact Kingston and receive an RMA #. I pay for advanced replacement (You pay for another package of RAM and are reimbursed upon return of old RAM.) I receive my new RAM, install it. To find that no display happens when I boot my computer. The computer itself looks to be booting as normal, the beep indicating POST has completed successfully is normal. Just absolutely no display. Sooo, Back to research; I google the problem, multiple solutions are suggested, I damage the RAM, I damaged the slot, The BIOS needed to be updated. So, I updated the BIOS and still nothing. I begin to think I caused some kind of irreversible damage and curse my luck. I come across someone who said to insert one of my old sticks and to try that. In my case, my only working stick. When inserting my single working 8gb stick alongside the 16gb, lone and behold, IT WORKS! So now I try my RAM in many different subsets all of which work. All 24gb of RAM works in each slot, under a single condition. My long time RAM stick is inserted. I eventually gave up, me being the procrastinator I am, I decide it's a problem for later. That was last weekend, This weekend I started getting BSOD's again, pointing to RAM failure. I decide to use Memtest x86 again only to find that the RAM stick I have been using for a long time has also gone bad. So I was hoping the people who are much more adept and knowledgeable about this subject, could shed some light on what could be happening here and how to fix it? So far I have the following theories: Completely faulty RAM from HyperX (not likely.) Faulty Motherboard is killing my RAM (again not likely.) Human Error(Very Likely). I just don't understand how this could be human error. My memory sticks worked for about 2 months before one went bad. Now another 2 months and a second stick goes bad in the same kit! Even if the second stick only was human error, It worked for a full week after I messed with it before this problem came to light? Any help much appreciated!
