I will quickly tell about my background. I have had an assembled desktop since 2006 and have changed the CPU in 2011 and keyboard and mouse multiple times since.
I will brief about my current complete configuration:

1. HP DVD writer 1260r SCSI CDRom Device
2. Samsung 17 inch TFT monitor (the big box)
3. Logitech wired mouse and wired multimedia keyboard
4. Asus M2N68- AM Plus Motherboard
5. AMD Phenom II X2 550 Processor
6. Kingston 1*2GB RAM 800Mhz
7. Circle Cabinet with inbuilt PSU ( No separate PSU )
8. Creative 2.1 speakers
9. Sennhessier HD 201 Over the Ear Headphone
10. Iball HD WebCam
11. 500 GB Western Digital SATA Hard Disk

Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate.
Antivirus: Avast (Free version) (Been using for 8 years, never had a system threatening virus till now, touchwood)

I intend not to change the keyboard, mouse, DVD writer, speaker, webcam, headphone. I am not a gamer at all, but my interests might change couple of years down. So No GPU required as of now, but system should be compatible.
Also, the place where I keep my desktop is kind of warm, so adequate cooling required.

My usage is purely multimedia. Watching HD movies both online and offline, listening to music, heavy browsing and basic applications like MS Office etc.

My objective is to be future proof for about 5 years and to use the system without any lag or slowdown. I also want to install Windows 10 on it.

My Budget is around Rs. 25000/-

Please suggest me the best computer rig within my budget and my requirements with prices from the leading e-commerce websites ( if possible)
Also, which components can be used in the new system and what would be the approximately scrap value of other components.

Thanks! :)

Hello Cin19,

Firstly thank you for giving such detailed response to my question. As you have interpreted correctly my basic purpose is for a fast PC and gaming is a big 'if' as for now. I don't know much about computers, so please ignore the queries which you find dumb or naïve.

1. I feel that CPU has become old, would prefer to purchase Haswell Generation of Intel Processors. (Probably an i5 base model) What's your take on it?
2. Considering the above, which motherboard would you recommend? I wish for maximum USB 3.0 ports and downward compatible to my current RAM and SATA cables. And is Gigabyte the best in the MoBo space?
3. I was also of the opinion of purchasing 8GB Corsair RAM. 1333 or 1600 Mhz? Also, will my current 2GB 800 mhz function? Is there any obvious advantages or disadvantages of purchasing 2x4GB RAM?
4. I was also thinking of buying an SSD but of 120GB ( Samsung EVO) because apart from OS, I plan to install a couple of softwares and low graphic games.
5. I was also looking for buying WD blue 1TB HDD but my concern was whether to buy an Internal or External? I do not transfer large data to another computers and do not need portability. Which option would you advise? Also, is the hybrid drive SSHD good enough to solve my problem? And would I be able to use current 500GB HDD with the new system smoothly?
6. I definitely require a monitor. 20-21 inches is good enough. I prefer watching movies in 16:10 aspect ratio. Also, I like to turn monitor to adjust my seating position. So need better viewing angles. Please suggest based on the above.
7. I am sure I don't want to spend at present on graphics card. Whatever the processor would have inbuilt graphics, I'm happy with that.
8. I would also require a sturdy and little fancy cabinet to put new system. Is there inbuilt PSU available in modern cabinets? Or should I be buying a new one?
9. I have the problem of heating a tad bit as the surroundings where I keep my desktop is warm. So I think I would need cooling fans.

A little overshoot in the budget is fine.
