Only buy additional RAM from the same manufacturer, with the same specs and same part numbers. Even then it is a crapshoot whether they will work together reliably. It is best to buy multiple DIMMs in "Matched Sets".

  2. As Yogi said, it's a crapshoot, even with another stick of the same exact model, if you have or try and have problems give a shout and we can try voltage/timing adjustments to try and get them to play nice ;)

thanku... but i've read that 1600mhz ram will automatically get backward compatible with 1333mhz ram.... !!??
i think my existing ram and the ram which am planing to buy as its in my budget both have same latency timing i.e. 9-9-9-24
  4. It depends on the BIOS, adding new DRAM will likely drop to 1066, and then - if they will even play - you will set them them 1333 or as high as you can run them. Again, there is no guarantee they will play with your old
