Hi, so I have had this computer set up for a couple years now. For about 8 months, my problem has progressively gotten worse and worse. That is that my motherboard will only post about one out of every ten times I boot it up. At the beginning it would post nearly every time and every so often it would fail to post, then a couple months later it only posted half the time I booted it. Then a few months later I would have to reboot the computer several times and cross my fingers hoping it would post. Now it has reached the bottom and it RARELY will post.

My set-up is as follows:

Mobo: Asus P8B75-M LE
PSU: Model- RS-550-PCAR-N1
Type- Intel Form Factor ATX 12V V2.3
RAM: 2X/ 4GB HyperX KHX16C9B1R/4
CPU: Intel I3-3220 @ 3.3 GHz
No Drive Connected
Very sure onboard graphics is shot. If no external graphics is seated it gives error code "cannot detect video card" and I have gotten it to post rarely with a very old card and my AMD Radeon HD7870 and in BIOS it cannot detect onboard graphics. The chances of posting with both cards has been the same.

Don't think it is power supply because I just replaced it and the problem was occurring the same before and after. I don't believe it is graphics either because I am able to post the same with either card I use.

I have checked all over the board and it doesn't look like there are any broken pieces or bulging towers. No pieces of metal or debris that could be causing a short.

Have tried HDMI and VGA output, same result with both.

I used both sticks of RAM in each slot. The results were somewhat promising: each stick would not initially post in either slot. But pressed MemOk for each trial and almost every time it would post using one of MemOk's settings. However, when I went to reset the computer using the MemOk settings that worked, it would not work a second time. Only one time did it work a second time with the same MemOk settings, but it did not work a third time. Also, using the same stick in the same slot for two trials, I pressed MemOk, and it worked using two different set of settings for the same stick in the same slot. I am baffled as to why this is. The whole thing was very inconsistent as far as results. The only two things that seemed consistent were the fact that pressing MemOk allowed the system to post every time except for once. And that every time except for one the MemOk settings would not work a second time.

I am about to use my RAM sticks in another working computer to see the results and use known working RAM sticks in my computer. Hopefully this will tell me whether the issue is my motherboard or the RAM sticks.

Ok, my RAM stick worked flawlessly in the other computer. However the known working RAM sticks did not work in my computer. Produced same results as previous.

I have cleared the CMOS several times, reseated everything including the CPUS. All connections are tight and there are no obvious physical defects on the board. At this point I do not know what to do next.

In conclusion, the only known problems with the motherboard from the tests I have done are: the onboard graphics chip being dead, and there being some unknown issue between the RAM sticks and the slots.

Any ideas or solutions or advice is greatly appreciated. I can give more information and upload pictures as needed.
